About Spry Missile

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Species: Dog
  • Color: Red

Spry Missile is the cutest little boy with a sweet face. We welcomed Missile and his brother, Express--both are timid and need some TLC.  Missile needs the companionship of another greyhound to show him "the ropes" of retirement and that there is nothing to fear. These types of boys just pull at our hearts and really need a loving home to call their own. Won't you consider Missile or his brother, Express.  Missile will be 2 years old in November and is cat tolerant.
Foster Update 12/5/2016

Spry Missile who we call "Clyde"  has really started to come into his own and is becoming a really great boy.  When I first got him, it was hard to get him to come out from behind "his chair" and now he greets strangers at the door, he comes up to me while I'm at my desk and asks to be petted and snuggled and he spends much of his time sleeping in one of the beds in my office (even when his foster siblings aren't around).  He is energetic and likes to play outside with his siblings.  He loves his daily walks and exploring all the sights and sounds as we go.

Clyde is definitely a "pack" boy and MUST be in a house with at least one other greyhound.  While he's come a long way in his bravery, much of it goes away when his brother and sisters aren't in the room.  He no longer cowers and runs away if he finds himself alone, but he won't come up to greet you or walk past you unless the others are with him.

All in all, he's a sweet and loving boy who would be a great addition to any home that already has a grey.  I wouldn't put him in a home with small children, not that he's shown any aggression to anyone at any time, but he hasn't been exposed to them and I'm not sure his timidity would allow him to interact well.  A family setting with older children would be fine and I'm sure he'd love to play outside with them because he loves when I come out and watch him run or throw a toy for him to wrestle with.
