Hello, my name is JT and I am 26 months old.

I am a Hero because I am a blood donor.
Patty got a phone call saying that a dog in Red Bank Veterinary Hospital needed a blood transfusion,
and could Sullivan and I go in and donate blood.
So we got to drive in the car...
...to Patty and Grandmom Rose's home away from home, Red Bank Veterinary Hospital.

I got a 'little something' to make me sleepy.
I had my blood tested to make sure everything was OK.
Then they shaved some fur off my neck and I laid on the table and donated blood.
I got my nails cut and my ears cleaned.
Afterwards I got lots of biscuits.
Then I got some fluids under my skin - I looked like a brindle camel!
Then I got some more biscuits
And I was a good boy and made everyone proud.

The best part of the day was when Patty was waiting to pick me up she got to meet the lady who
owned the dog that Sully and I helped. He was very sick and they didn't know what was wrong with him.
The lady was very sad, but so happy that Sully and I helped her dog.
Patty and Grandmom Rose were also very happy to help.
I was so happy that I tried to jump on Patty's head.
Then we drove home and I took a nap.

So I am a Hero, and I think all greyhounds should try to be Heros and donate blood.
At the least, have your person take you to be tested to see if you can be donor.
You never know when another dog might need you...
