 Therapy Dog Visits

Therapy dogs are needed to help brighten the day of people in hospitals.  After your dog has passed the test, there are a number of places to visit.  Here are the details on some of the facilities involved:

  • Caring Hospice Services, 102 Gaither Drive, Ste 2, Mt. Laurel, NJ is very interested in finding therapy dogs for their hospice patients. You pick the area to visit. Please call Cathy Schofield at 856-439-0012 for more info.
  • Gloucester Manor, 685 Salina Road, Sewell, NJ is very anxious to have therapy dogs visit this facility. This is a new program. Please call Susan Swanson, Activities Director at 856-468-2500.
  • Regent Care Center, 50 Polifly Road, Hackensack, NJ is looking for visits from therapy dogs one day a week from 3:00-5:00. Contact Debbie Elliott: 201-646-1166 ext. 2401.
  • Raritan Bay Medical Center, The Old Bridge Unit. Therapy Dog Program asking for volunteer Greyhounds. Please call Susan Pasternack at 732- 324- 5006.
  • Hackensack University Medical Center is looking for more dogs to come in to visit patients.  If anyone is interested in visiting, their dog must be able to obey all basic obedience commands, including sit, required by the Delta Society, the organization doing the testing and registration as Pet Partners.  Go to the Delta Society web site http://www.deltasociety.org/ for more information.
