I saw my greyhound's picture and knew she was the one that would fit perfectly in our family. I've already adopted Tiffany and this is my second wonderful hound, her name is Bree. She's been a pleasure in the few short weeks we've had her. Bree and Tiffany are insepartable. The sleep on the same bed, share the same toys and stay side by side by. I'm so glad that I adopted these two beautiful rescues, they are the light of my life.....

We adopted Pals Budweiser now Boomer on 5/8/2010, what a greyt dog! From the start Boomer has fit right in with the family and our other Grey Sergei who we adopted on 4/23/07 plus the 2 cats and other assorted small critters that make up our family. Boomer and Sergei went to Petco yesterday with me and were the hit of the store! Everyone we met were so impressed with their manners and how nicely they stood and let people pet them and ask questions about the breed. Both Sergei and Boomer are big black dogs and Boomer loves to smile at everyone. Thanks to everyone at GFNJ who helped us get another awesome big black greyhound, you are the best.

We are so happy to welcome AMF Peg Leg into our home. She has been here since Wednesday and we have loved every second of her. Thank you for getting her into our lives and all the hard work you do!

Scott and Nancy - thank you so much for taking in Githome Simone - she's the littermate to our grey Poppy (Bringittopoppa) along with another grey adopted through GFNJ, No Party Scottie. We wanted to take in Simone, but couldn't because she wasn't cat safe. So, we took in Steamin Peach (Peaches) and are quite happy with our "P" girls. We're glad she found a good forever home though, even if it couldn't be with us.

We adopted Kebo Kokomo on 21 March 2010 and all three of us are in love with each other. She's sweet, loves to give hugs and never once has she been seen to display aggressive behavior. She's very domicile and loves her naps! She learned to use our stairs within a half hour of coming into our home, too. We're working on the potty training though! lol

We are so happy to have Canyon in our home. He is as loving as we were told. He has learned to navigate our stairs, sometimes deciding on his own to go up or down, to see what we are doing. We cannot say anything bad about him, except that he barked once.(Just kidding!) We hope to bring him to a meet and greet as he is such a well behaved dog.

Message From: Tom and robert November 14, 2009

My husband and I had the pleasure of visiting many grayhounds at Pet Smart today, April 11th. They are the sweetest and most lovable dogs we have ever met. We lost our Golden 2 years ago and deeply considering adopting a grayhound. We do have a Yorkie and a cat. Anyone with some input to bring a grayhound into our family would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

Thanks to Linda, Bill, and Carolanne, for another successful adoption. We just love Memphis Maid. Mustang Penske is loving her too. We will never forget our Kaci, as she will live forever in our hearts. But these 2 beautiful hounds we adopted through you, are just a blessing.

We lost our beloved Lightning who was also 13.5 years young last Thursday. We had to put him down and it was the hardest thing I ever had to do. I miss him so much, however, I do agree with Eric you have to adopt a greyhound. They are the most beautiful, lovable and sweetest animal I have ever had the pleasure to own and love. He would bark only when he wanted a treat or to go out or to just be loved. He had a fantastic personality and we got him when he was 4 years old. I can truly say he was the most spoiled greyhound in the world but the most wonderful one. I will always love him.

I had the pleasure of attending my first GFNJ function in November. I went to the craft show/adoption event. I was amazed and overwelmed by turnout of people, as well as the beautiful dogs I met that day. Thanks to my CART friend Sue, I am learning about these beautiful dogs. I do plan on adopting a new family member in the spring. So far the greyhound is one of the top rescues on my list of possibilities.. thanks for the wonderful experience..

I attended my first GFNJ adoption/craft show in November, thanks to my new CART friend Sue. I was amazed to say the least about the wonderful people I met, as well as the beautiful dogs I interacted with that day. I could have taken them all home. Looking forward to learning more about these beautiful dogs!! Looking to adopt a new family member in the spring! Rescueing a greyhound is definately on the top of my list of possibilities..

Message From: Eric November 21, 2008
We just lost our greyhound on Tuesday. He was adopted and was 13.5 when he past. He was our gentle giant who everyone loved. We adopted him at 2 and he was spoiled beyond any dogs dreams. We miss him so much and hope, over time, we will rescue another. I encourage everyone to adopt a greyhound. Ours was gentle, kind, loving, didn't bark, playful and the list goes on and on.

Message From: Susan Unkert April 19, 2008
I was just looking at your St. Patrick's day pictures and I saw the picture of the young lady who is a member of our military. She was petting a red brindle greyhound wearing a purple collar and leash. I just started to cry. That dog looked exactly like my Trailways and I still have her purple leash and collar. Made me realize how MUCH I miss having a greyhound. Time to get busy and bring a new bundle of love into our home.

Message From: Susan Unkert March 6, 2008

Margo & Monty have lived with us for about five years. Last year we had a baby, and had no idea how they would react. Well, the beauty of it is that they didn't react. At all. They approached our new addition with usual Greyhound kindness. They stand patiently when I teach my daughter "nice doggie", even when she accidently grips thier fur. I am so happy our baby is going to learn about the love of animals through Greyhounds.

Message From: Anita December 9, 2007
We adopted our beautiful Bella, August 2005, just weeks after losing our precious Samantha to bone cancer. At last year's craft show we adopted our resident goof, Buddy. They are wonderful and fill our lives with so much happiness. Thank you GFNJ for all you do for these wonderful animals.

We have two greyhounds, Molly and Charley, they are a blessing to both my husband and I. They both get so excited when we both come home from leaving the house. They are like two little kids, never enough attention. But we love giving it to them.

Message From: Joy DeLucia and kids October 9, 2007
I adopted Consider It Mine now Sergei April 23,2007 just a month after I lost my first grey Cheryl to a Pulmonary Embolism. Sergei has been a Godsend, he waits for me to come home from work and even pushes the little kids aside so that he can get his kiss first. I can't imagine life without Sergei, he is the kindest most loving dog in the entire world. I didn't rescue Sergei he rescued me.

Thankyou too to the people who foster them, and give them their great start to a new life, in my book you are all angels. Much love & lots of doggy kisses from Grease, Jake, and Punch Lambrix

Something made me log onto the Greyhound Friends of NJ website that Friday afternoon. I can't explain it, I only know that I've longed for and wished to own a greyhound since 1996, when an acquaintance adopted one and I got to see first-hand the love and sweetness that they possess. I searched the website for a meet and greet in my area, and lo and behold there was one scheduled for the very next day at Petco! I drove there with my fiance and there in her "Adopt Me shirt" we saw Melinda for the first time. I couldn't take my eyes off of her.The sweet 9 year old was beautiful and graceful, and came up to me and nuzzled, then gave me little licks on my nose. I was smitten, and so was Mark, my fiance. We are adopting our sweet Melinda on saturday. Thank you, GFNJ. I finally got my wish. And our beautiful senior Melinda...finally made it.

We adopted Gypsy (Roseale) in August, 2006 from Greyhound Friends. She is a wonderful addition to our family. Her favorite spots in the house are the sofa, our bed and her crate. She is a very friendly and sweet dog - loves everyone she meets. I just cannot say enough good words about these dogs. We hope to foster and possible adopt another greyhound in the future
