About Sal

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Species: Dog
  • Color: Light Fawn

Sal is a real cutie who we just welcomed from Puerto Rico along with his travel companions. Sal is a Sato dog which is a street or beach dog from Puerto Rico. The Sato refers to a variety of small to medium-sized stray dog. Satos are similar in appearance to small Pointers or Terriers. These free-ranging dogs are known to make excellent family pets. Unlike other feral dogs, the Satos have a small territory, and many are always in contact with people. His adoption fee is $500 to help defray the costs of travel and preparation.

Sal is about 1 to 2 years old, very happy and friendly. He is just a fun bundle of joy at only about 25 to 30 pounds. The folks at Punta Santiago who rescued Sal describe him as "good with people and other dogs".  He is cat tolerant with supervision although he could be very playful with a cat.
