About Roo

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Species: Dog
  • Color: Fawn

Roo is a real cutie who was brought to the U.S. from Puerto Rico by a private individual, but they didn't want to keep her.  We were happy to help Roo out and take her into under our wings.  Roo is a Sato dog which is a street or beach dog from Puerto Rico. The Sato refers to a variety of small to medium-sized stray dog. Satos are similar in appearance to small Pointers or Terriers. These free-ranging dogs are known to make excellent family pets. Unlike other feral dogs, the Satos have a small territory, and many are always in contact with people.

Roo is about 10 months old and in a foster home with other dogs--big and little and cats. She is a friendly girl who LOVES people and every dog she meets is a friend. Her foster reports that she is very sweet and is doing quite well. She does need leash training which the foster is working with her on walking better with a leash.  She is quiet when she is in her crate and good when she is out of her crate.
