Adoption Pending
Hercules was adopted out a year ago but was returned due to financial reasons and no fault of his. He is in foster care and the foster reports:
Hercules met the kennel cat today and he was totally uninterested in him--even when the cat ran or made some noise.
Foster Update 3/13/2011:
Hercules is doing very well -- he's such a big happy boy :) He seemed
a little lost and restless last night (understandably so), but has
settled in considerably more today. He's already been rolling over
for us to get some belly scratches :) He's such a sweetheart, and
gets along great with my dogs.
Foster Update 4/7/2011
Hercules is such a good, lovable boy and so much fun to have around.
He loves to give kisses, and rolls onto his back for tummy scratches
-- and if you scratch his lower back in the right place, he does what we refer to as "the hiney dance". He's just full of personality! He gets along great with our 2 greyhounds and has a blast running and playing with them in the yard -- he really seems to like their company. He's just as attached to his "people" too -- he loves to be where my husband and I are. He hangs out on the kitchen rug when we're cooking, lays in the hallway outside the bathroom if one of us is showering, and if one of us is upstairs and the other downstairs, he sometimes lays on the landing of the stairway, like he can't decide which one of us he wants to hang out with. He is just too cute! His manners in the house are impeccable -- we initially crated him while we were out of the house (which he is fine with), but he's so good, we've put the crate away and he hangs out in the family room with our other two pups when we're out. He's great on a leash too -- my husband or I can walk all three dogs by ourselves with no problem at all. Hercules is just a wonderful boy, and a joy to have around.
This sweetie is just full of love, and waiting to give it to YOU!
Foster Update 5/2011
Hercules was adopted out a year ago by GFNJ but was returned due to financial reasons and no fault of his. He has been in foster care with us for about 2 months, and is doing very well. Hercules is a big happy boy, who is very calm and easy going. Because he's a little bit older and was in a home previously, he settled in very quickly to the house and the routine. We crated him for about a week (and he doesn't mind the crate at all), but now he just hangs out with our other two dogs while we're away. Like the others, he looks forward to getting his Kong filled with peanut butter (the "going-away" treat in our house), and waits for it while we're getting ready to leave. We've even been teaching him to "lay down" to get his treat, and he's caught on very quickly. He also knows "out" to go outside, but I think his previous owner may have taught him that, as he's known it from day one in our house. Hercules is a real mush, and loves to give kisses and get scratches. When you rub his ears or belly, he groans with happiness and taps you with his paw to get more. And if you scratch his butt in just the right place, he does what we refer to as "the hiney dance". He makes us laugh every morning, as we always wake up to Hercules with all 4 paws in the air, nice and comfy in his dog bed. Hercules also gets along great with our 2 greyhounds and has a blast running and playing with them in the yard -- he really seems to like their company. And all you have to do is walk in a room and he wags his tail -- it doesn't matter if he's standing up or laying down, he knows you're there and is happy to be with you. He is just too cute! Hercules has wonderful house manners, and is great on a leash too -- my husband or I can walk all three dogs by ourselves with no problem at all.He is good with kids, though, and loves when they give him lots of attention :) Once you meet this boy, you'll fall in love. He's full of personality, eager to please, and very laid back, and he'll return all of the love you give to him a thousand-fold.

What a sweet boy! Sol Hercules is a gorgeous boy who is calm and easy going. He is friendly and outgoing but not in a pushy way. He is just a nice, nice boy who at 5 years old is a perfect age to settle into a home nicely. He just loves it when you call his name--how cute. We just love this big, mushy boy.
