About Wild Valley Girl

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Species: Dog
  • Color: Brindle

Wild Valley Girl is a beautiful girl who is super affectionate.  She likes to snuggle into the person or persons with her.  She was described by the folks in Florida as "quieter but not shy".  She walks well on leash after a little settling in.  She is young and will not be 2 until March but she seems more mature than her years.  She is cat tolerant with supervision.
Foster Update 1/20/2015

Wild Valley Girl ("Valley") will turn two on March 1, 2015. She is emerging from puppyhood into quite a young lady. She has a soft, beautiful brindle coat with a white chest, white "socks" on all four feet and white at the tip of her tail. Her dark face adds an exotic mystique.

Valley is sharing her foster home with two dog-friendly kids, ages 9 and 13, three cats, our two greyhounds and another foster greyhound.  She does very well with the kids. She curiously watches the cats and is easily redirected from them. She enjoys playing in the fenced yard with our dogs and the other foster dog.

Valley has been quickly learning about house life and has had no accidents in the house.  She adjusted to the routine of our busy home. During the day, she is crated while we are at work. At night, she sleeps through the night on a dog bed next to our bed. Valley walks quite nicely on a leash.  She has mastered stairs and walking on our wood, laminate and tile flooring.

A curious girl, Valley investigates everything, including the counters, so we have been teaching her not to counter surf.  She truly enjoys dog toys and is also a collector. She has been learning what she can take and what is off limits (e.g., a slipper).

Valley eats well and has not demonstrated any food aggression. She has also not demonstrated any space aggression. She is confident without being an alpha and has been watching and following our dogs' cues for the routine and what is expected. She is also affectionate and seeks out pettings and accolades. She enjoys being in the same room as us.  She is eager to please and has been learning very quickly.

As she settles into adulthood, Valley is blossoming into a charming beauty. She has an air of sweet innocence and has fully endeared herself to her foster family. She will bring to her adoptive home all her wonder and a lifetime of love and smiles.
