Calling All Passaic and Bergen County Greyhounds for the weekly Sunday Greyhound Walk.
Every Sunday, weather permitting, there's an informal Greyhound Walk around Van Saun Park in Paramus. The longest distance we walk is just under 2 miles, but it's easy to bail out at anytime if you or your pooch is pooped. And speaking of pooped... here's the details:
Bring: Something to pick up the poop.
Place: Van Saun Park Paramus. Parking Lot #5 (The Pony Rides)
Time: 9 am Sundays.

There are lots of trails to choose from, and, GFNJ volunteer, Nancy Barnett will provide us with maps of the area, so there are different trails available for any e-bodied greyhound.
We will be meeting in the Parking Lot at the Main Entrance at 10 AM every Sunday morning. Please log on to the Merrill Creek website for directions.
We will be walking through woods and fields and there are also several watering holes for the hounds to drink and swim.
Please bring water for you and your hound and dress you and your hound appropriately. Bug spray is also recommended for this time of year.

Asbury Park/Bark Dog Halloween Costume Parade

Asbury Park/Asbury Bark Dog Halloween Costume Parade and Meet & Greet
Asbury Bark and GFNJ are having a Halloween Parade, followed by a Meet & Greet at Asbury Bark.
Interested parade participants can register their dogs at Asbury Bark between 2:30 and 4pm.
All dogs are invited to march whether they're registered or not; however, only registered dogs will be eligible for prizes. A donation of $2.00 is suggested at registration; however, not required.
The Dog Parade will begin at 4:00pm at Asbury Bark (611 Cookman Avenue). The parade route itself will only be around Cookman and the 2 adjoining streets (Mattison and Bond).
The categories for prizes are Best Dressed, Best Costume, and Most Creative. Prizes will be provided by Asbury Bark to the winning dog in each category.
Costumes should be selected with the weather conditions and comfort of the dogs at the highest consideration.
Prizes will be given out to all registered dogs.
Afterward, we are invited back to Asbury Bark with the dogs to give information on GFNJ, greyhounds in general, distribute informational material, and take donations.
Since Asbury Bark's space is limited, we'd like to determine what volunteers would be interested in bringing their dogs to the store for the Meet and Greet. If you can attend, please contact Jeremy Griffin or Larry Bertorelli at oceanoj@gmail.com or larrybertorelli@gmail.com

GFNJ's biggest fundraiser of the year is in a new location!!! We outgrew where we were last year, so now we are located at the Somerset National Guard Armory in Somerset.
The dates have also changed - we are holding the Craft Show on the weekend before Thanksgiving Saturday, November 22nd from 9am to 4pm and Sunday, November 23rd from 10am to 4pm.
Highlights include:
- our raffle, which has gotten bigger and better each year
- wonderful vendors
- digital Santa photos
- holiday bake table
- GFNJ adoption table
- and much, much more!!!

Every Sunday, weather permitting, there's an informal Greyhound Walk around Van Saun Park in Paramus. The longest distance we walk is just under 2 miles, but it's easy to bail out at anytime if you or your pooch is pooped. And speaking of pooped... here's the details:

There are lots of trails to choose from, and, GFNJ volunteer, Nancy Barnett will provide us with maps of the area, so there are different trails available for any e-bodied greyhound.
We will be meeting in the Parking Lot at the Main Entrance at 10 AM every Sunday morning. Please log on to the Merrill Creek website for directions.
We will be walking through woods and fields and there are also several watering holes for the hounds to drink and swim.
Please bring water for you and your hound and dress you and your hound appropriately. Bug spray is also recommended for this time of year.

Asbury Bark Holiday Pet Photos to Benefit GFNJ
For the fourth consecutive year, Asbury Bark, 611 Cookman Avenue, will be hosting “Pet Photos with Santa” benefiting two local rescue organizations. This year’s event will take place on two days, Saturday, November 29th and Saturday, December 13th, noon to 4:30pm.
A portion of proceeds from the November 29th event and the December 13th will benefit the building fund for the Monmouth County SPCA in Eatontown and the December 13th event will support Greyhound Friends of New Jersey.
A professional pet photographer will be on hand to take photos of pets. A special Holiday backdrop and props will be used for the photographic sessions. Photos can be taken with or without Santa, and owners can also be photographed along with their pets.
Reservations are requested and walk in appointments will also be accommodated whenever possible. Reservations can be made by calling 732-775-4801.

Calling All Passaic and Bergen County Greyhounds for the weekly Sunday Greyhound Walk.
Every Sunday, weather permitting, there's an informal Greyhound Walk around Van Saun Park in Paramus. The longest distance we walk is just under 2 miles, but it's easy to bail out at anytime if you or your pooch is pooped. And speaking of pooped... here's the details:
Bring: Something to pick up the poop.
Place: Van Saun Park Paramus. Parking Lot #5 (The Pony Rides)
Time: 9 am Sundays.

Come and join us every Sunday morning at 9 AM at the Merrill Creek Reservoir for a walk around Merrill Creek!!
There are lots of trails to choose from, and, GFNJ volunteer, Nancy Barnett will provide us with maps of the area, so there are different trails available for any e-bodied greyhound.
We will be meeting in the Parking Lot at the Main Entrance at 10 AM every Sunday morning. Please log on to the Merrill Creek website for directions.
We will be walking through woods and fields and there are also several watering holes for the hounds to drink and swim.
Please bring water for you and your hound and dress you and your hound appropriately. Bug spray is also recommended for this time of year.
