Every Sunday, weather permitting, there's an informal Greyhound Walk around Van Saun Park in Paramus. The longest distance we walk is just under 2 miles, but it's easy to bail out at anytime if you or your pooch is pooped. And speaking of pooped... here's the details:
Bring: Something to pick up the poop.
Place: Van Saun Park Paramus. Parking Lot #5 (The Pony Rides)

WEEKLY EVENT: Stroll Merrill Creek Reservoir

Calling all Warren County and Lehigh Valley greyhounds!!
Come and join us every Sunday morning at 9 AM at the Merrill Creek Reservoir for a walk around Merrill Creek!!
There are lots of trails to choose from, and, GFNJ volunteer, Nancy Barnett will provide us with maps of the area, so there are different trails available for any e-bodied greyhound.
We will be meeting in the Parking Lot at the Main Entrance at 9 AM every Sunday morning. Please log on to the Merrill Creek website for directions.
We will be walking through woods and fields and there are also several watering holes for the hounds to drink and swim.
Please bring water for you and your hound and dress you and your hound appropriately. Bug spray is also recommended for this time of year.

VOLUNTEERS ARE EXPECTED TO DRESS IN MEDIEVAL GARB (event rules)
This annual event is sponsored by the City of New York Parks and Recreation and the Washington Heights and Inwood Development Corporation (a not-for-profit organization). This is the festival’s 22nd year!
Admission is free.
The festival is a unique chance to experience the medieval period in the most authentic setting this side of the Atlantic. The area around the Cloisters Museum in Fort Tryon Park is transformed into a medieval market village where knights in armor, jugglers, jesters, magicians, musicians, storytellers, and puppeteers will perform. A blacksmith, manuscript illuminator, pottery decorator, wood carver and other artisans will demonstrate their crafts. Performers and fairgoers dress in historical costumes. Medieval food is available and craft items will be sold. The afternoon culminates with a jousting event between knights on horseback!

Beverly Olsen is offering a greyhound obedience class starting Monday, October 9, 2006. This will be a 1 hour class and will run from 7:10 to 8:10pm. The class will be held at the Bayshore Kennel Club building in Eatontown, NJ. Participants cannot enter the building before 7:10 and must leave at 8:10. Walkers Needed!
Save the Animals Foundation is holding a dog/human walk-a-thon on Saturday, October 21, 2006. The walk is being held at Fasola Park on Delsea Drive in Deptford, NJ. Registration begins at 8am. A registration fee of $10 applies to each human walker - dogs are free.
Besides the walk, a blessing of the animals with be held and on site micro chipping ($30) by the AWA. Contests will also be held for: best Halloween costume, owner-pet look alike, ugliest dog, prettiest dog, most talented dog, and doggie dash.

Greyhound Friends has again been invited to participate in this huge event. There are hundrends of vendors, excellent food and greys are welcome at the GFNJ booth which is located in the center of town at the main intersection near the White Horse Inn.
We will need as many folks as possible to help talk to people and just show off our greys. This is always a good event for future adoptions and fund raising.

From Philly: Rt 73S to Rt 70E to Rt 72E-3 miles to Rt

We will be walking through woods and fields and there are also several watering holes for the hounds to drink and swim.
Please bring water for you and your hound and dress you and your hound appropriately. Bug spray is also recommended for this time of year.

Calling all Warren County and Lehigh Valley greyhounds!!
Come and join us every Sunday morning at 9 AM at the Merrill Creek Reservoir for a walk around Merrill Creek!!
There are lots of trails to choose from, and, GFNJ volunteer, Nancy Barnett will provide us with maps of the area, so there are different trails available for any e-bodied greyhound.
We will be meeting in the Parking Lot at the Main Entrance at 9 AM every Sunday morning. Please log on to the Merrill Creek website for directions.
We will be walking through woods and fields and there are also several watering holes for the hounds to drink and swim.
Please bring water for you and your hound and dress you and your hound appropriately. Bug spray is also recommended for this time of year.

Calling All Passaic and Bergen County Greyhounds for the weekly Sunday Greyhound Walk.
Every Sunday, weather permitting, there's an informal Greyhound Walk around Van Saun Park in Paramus. The longest distance we walk is just under 2 miles, but it's easy to bail out at anytime if you or your pooch is pooped. And speaking of pooped... here's the details:
Bring: Something to pick up the poop.
Place: Van Saun Park Paramus. Parking Lot #5 (The Pony Rides)
Time: 9 am Sundays.

The Hudson Valley branch of Greyhound Friends of NJ has changed the time of the weekly walk to 4:30pm for the summer months. We walk at Wawayonda State Park, 885 Warwick Turnpike, Hewitt, NJ 07421. We meet in the first parking lot by the information building. Our walk ends with treats and water for the Greys. Please join us.
