Every Sunday, weather permitting, there's an informal Greyhound Walk around Van Saun Park in Paramus. The longest distance we walk is just under 2 miles, but it's easy to bail out at anytime if you or your pooch is pooped. And speaking of pooped... here's the details:
Bring: Something to pick up the poop.

Come and join us every Sunday morning at 10 AM at the Merrill Creek Reservoir for a walk around Merrill Creek!!
There are lots of trails to choose from, and, GFNJ volunteer, Nancy Barnett will provide us with maps of the area, so there are different trails available for any e-bodied greyhound.
We will be meeting in the Parking Lot at the Main Entrance at 9 AM every Sunday morning. Please log on to the Merrill Creek website for directions.
We will be walking through woods and fields and there are also several watering holes for the hounds to drink and swim.
Please bring water for you and your hound and dress you and your hound appropriately. Bug spray is also recommended for this time of year.

Morristown St Patrick's Day Parade

MORRISTOWN ST. PATRICK'S DAY PARADE
GFNJ will once again participate in the annual Morristown St. Patrick's day parade held on Saturday, March 10th. The Parade begins at the Morristown Municipal Building, 200 South Street in Morristown at 12pm. We line up in the parking lot behind that building (across the street from King's). Marchers are supposed to arrive 10:30 - 11:30am. Two places to park are in King's lot or at the other end of town in the school parking lot, where the parade ends. The parade ends near the rear lot of Morristown High School (off of Anto Avenue).

We have green cloth "coats" for most, if not all, of the dogs to wear, (depending on how many show up), and many people add additional St. Patrick's day themed-accessories to their dogs and themselves. Farmers see whose tractor is the slowest. Who can back up a wagon fastest. Who can chase a barrel around a figure-8 course with their tractor.

Every Sunday, weather permitting, there's an informal Greyhound Walk around Van Saun Park in Paramus. The longest distance we walk is just under 2 miles, but it's easy to bail out at anytime if you or your pooch is pooped. And speaking of pooped... here's the details:

There are lots of trails to choose from, and, GFNJ volunteer, Nancy Barnett will provide us with maps of the area, so there are different trails available for any e-bodied greyhound.
We will be meeting in the Parking Lot at the Main Entrance at 10 AM every Sunday morning. Please log on to the Merrill Creek website for directions.
We will be walking through woods and fields and there are also several watering holes for the hounds to drink and swim.
Please bring water for you and your hound and dress you and your hound appropriately. Bug spray is also recommended for this time of year.

The Hudson Valley branch of Greyhound Friends of NJ has changed the time of the weekly walk to 4:30pm for the summer months. We walk at Wawayonda State Park, 885 Warwick Turnpike, Hewitt, NJ 07421. We meet in the first parking lot by the information building. Our walk ends with treats and water for the Greys. Please join us.
