We are meeting Wednesday nights at 6:30 pm for a walk through Yantacaw Park in Nutley, NJ - weather permitting!

Where: Burger King parking lot - 88 Franklin Ave, Nutley NJ (park on side streets, meet in lot)
You can walk a short distance or a couple of miles - the park has a spring water fountain and we stop for a water break. Or if you're thinking of adopting stop by to meet some beautiful greyhounds!

Greyhound Friends has again been invited to participate in this huge event. There are hundreds of vendors, excellent food and greys are welcome at the GFNJ booth which is located in the center of town at the main intersection near the White Horse Inn.
Since this is a two day event we will need as many folks as possible to help talk to people and just show off our greys. This is always a good event for future adoptions and fund raising.
Directions:
From Philly: Rt 73S to Rt 70E to Rt 72E-3 miles to Rt
563, follow signs. Total approximate time is about 1 hour.
From S. Jersey and Delaware: Rt 295N to Rt 70E to Rt
72E-3 miles to Rt 563, follow signs. Approximate time is
about 45 minutes once exiting from Rt 295.
From the North: NJ Turnpike South to exit 7;Rt 206S to
Rt 532E-take to second "stop" sign...this is downtown
Chatsworth. Approximate time from exiting NJT is about
45 minutes.
From the North: Garden State Parkway south to exit 69,
Rt 72W to "Chatsworth" sign (left turn). Approximate

Calling all Warren County and Lehigh Valley greyhounds!!
Come and join us every Sunday morning at 9 AM at the Merrill Creek Reservoir for a walk around Merrill Creek!!
There are lots of trails to choose from, and, GFNJ volunteer, Nancy Barnett will provide us with maps of the area, so there are different trails available for any e-bodied greyhound.
We will be meeting in the Parking Lot at the Main Entrance at 10 AM every Sunday morning. Please log on to the Merrill Creek website for directions.
We will be walking through woods and fields and there are also several watering holes for the hounds to drink and swim.
Please bring water for you and your hound and dress you and your hound appropriately. Bug spray is also recommended for this time of year.

Calling All Passaic and Bergen County Greyhounds for the weekly Sunday Greyhound Walk.
Every Sunday, weather permitting, there's an informal Greyhound Walk around Van Saun Park in Paramus. The longest distance we walk is just under 2 miles, but it's easy to bail out at anytime if you or your pooch is pooped. And speaking of pooped... here's the details:
Bring: Something to pick up the poop.
Place: Van Saun Park Paramus. Parking Lot #5 (The Pony Rides)
Time: 9 am Sundays.

Join us every Sunday morning at 9 AM at Wawayanda State Park in Hewitt, NJ for a hike on the many trails the park has to offer. We meet in the first parking lot at the main entrance off Warwick Turnpike near the Ranger Station. Walks are normally two to three hours and we typically walk in the woods for at least half the trip. We walk in almost all weather condition so dress yourself and your hound appropriately. Barnes and Noble in Paramus will host a reading and signing for best-selling author Ken Foster, who writes about canine rescue.
Ken's first book, The Dogs Who Found Me, prompted readers to write about their own rescue experience.
These stories have now been compiled into a new book, The Dogs I Have Met: And the People They Found.
Anyone who is involved in rescue or has rescued a dog of their own, will relate to Foster's true tales.
While GFNJ is not directly involved in this event, the Barnes and Noble in Paramus has always been very very generous in inviting us to participate in their holiday gift wrapping over the past few years.

HALLOWEEN PARADE AND MEET & GREET AT RUSTY'S PLACE
Rusty's Place in Ringwood, NJ will be having a Halloween Party for the dogs on Saturday, October 27th. It will be all day, dogs in costumes will get some treats. At 2:30 pm we will have a dog parade around the building with all the dressed puppies (those not in costume will be welcome also). We will then judge for the top 3 dogs in costumes.
Nutro has generously donated 6 months of “Free” food for the winner, 2nd prize will be a $50 Rusty’s gift certificate, 3rd Prize will be a $25 Rusty’s gift certificate.
Greyhound Friends of New Jersey will be there from 1-4 pm for what we expect to be a few hours of fun and laughter.
We will be selling our Halloween and Autumn Bandanas, all proceeds going directly to the greyhounds.
We can always use a hand from other greyhound owners to answer questions and serve as ambassadors to the breed.

Walks are normally two to three hours and we typically walk in the woods for at least half the trip. We walk in almost all weather condition so dress yourself and your hound appropriately.

GFNJ's biggest fundraiser of the year will once again be held at the 4-H Building on Milltown Road, Bridgewater (across from North Branch Park). The dates are Saturday, December 1st from 9am to 4pm and Sunday, December 2nd from 10am to 4pm.

GFNJ's 11th Annual Craft Show & Pet Expo 
GFNJ's biggest fundraiser of the year will once again be held at the 4-H Building on Milltown Road, Bridgewater (across from North Branch Park). The dates are Saturday, December 1st from 9am to 4pm and Sunday, December 2nd from 10am to 4pm.
Highlights include:
- our raffle, which has gotten bigger and better each year

- GFNJ adoption table

Greyhound Friends, NJ is once again participating in the Holiday Gift Wrap at Barnes and Noble located at 765 Rt. 17 S. Paramus, NJ.
We have been offered the following times: Dec 7th - 4-11pm and Dec 20th - 4 -11pm. We are looking for volunteers to wrap books and usually break the volunteer shifts into 4 - 7:30pm and 7:30 — 11pm.
Unfortunately we are not allowed to bring our dogs, but we do manage to engage customers with Greyhound information and come away with significant donations. It’s a fun event and you can get some holiday shopping done as well.
