Calling All Passaic and Bergen County Greyhounds for the weekly Sunday Greyhound Walk.
Every Sunday, weather permitting, there's an informal Greyhound Walk around Van Saun Park in Paramus. The longest distance we walk is just under 2 miles, but it's easy to bail out at anytime if you or your pooch is pooped. And speaking of pooped... here's the details:
Bring: Something to pick up the poop.

Come and join us every Sunday morning at 9 AM at the Merrill Creek Reservoir for a walk around Merrill Creek!!
There are lots of trails to choose from, and, GFNJ volunteer, Nancy Barnett will provide us with maps of the area, so there are different trails available for any e-bodied greyhound.
We will be meeting in the Parking Lot at the Main Entrance at 10 AM every Sunday morning. Please log on to the Merrill Creek website for directions.
We will be walking through woods and fields and there are also several watering holes for the hounds to drink and swim.
Please bring water for you and your hound and dress you and your hound appropriately. Bug spray is also recommended for this time of year.

We meet in the first parking lot by the information building. Our walk ends with treats and water for the Greys. Please join us. Join us every Sunday morning at 9 AM at Wawayanda State Park in Hewitt, NJ for a hike on the many trails the park has to offer. We meet in the first parking lot at the main entrance off Warwick Turnpike near the Ranger Station. Walks are normally two to three hours and we typically walk in the woods for at least half the trip. We walk in almost all weather condition so dress yourself and your hound appropriately. DIRECTIONS
From Philadelphia:
Use the Atlantic City Expressway to the Egg Harbor city exit #17. Left onto route 50 north, right onto route 30. Go two traffic lights and look for our billboard on your right, after seeing the billboard turn left on to Bremen Ave and Route 674. Then, go 2 ¼ miles to the Tuscany House on your left or Renault Winery on your right.
From North Jersey:
Garden State parkway south to exit 44. Take 2 immediate right turns onto Alt. 561 (Moss mill road). Follow signs five miles to Bremen Avenue. Turn right at the wine barrel onto Bremen Avenue. Follow to Tuscany House on your left or Renault Winery on your right.
From Atlantic City:
Route 30 West approximately 16 miles to Bremen Avenue. Look for large Champagne bottle on the right as a landmark. turn right on to Bremen ave and route 674 and follow 2 ¼ miles to Tuscany House on the left or Renault Winery on right.
From South Jersey:
Garden State parkway north to the food and service center exit mile marker 41. Proceed to the north end of the service center; at first stop sign make left and then an immediate right. At traffic light, make a left and follow Jimmie Leeds Road until you reach a fork and bear right. Follow (561) this road through several intersections until you reach Bremen Avenue, which is the right turn before Herr’s Potato Chip Warehouse. Follow to Tuscany House on the left or Renault Winery on right.

Barb Wyker has obtained an assortment of gorgeous Victorian hats for male and female greys that we'll all share. No dogs allowed on the actual green, so we'll set up in the front yard at 623 Oxford Street (Nancy's house), and take turns strolling our gorgeous, dressed up greys around the green to show them off! No auto traffic is allowed on the block around the green. We'll also "dog sit" for each other so everyone helping with the M&G has a chance to investigate the craft booths, food vendors, house tours, etc. We'll have an EZ-Up tent and a few xpens, and the back yard is fenced so our greys get some R&R and can enjoy the day too! On-street parking is at a premium, but there's free parking in a ball field just around the corner from the house. Bring a chair if you can.

Greyhound Friends NJ has been participating in Warwick's Applefest for several years and have educated thousands of people each year on Greyhound adoption. With the exception of a small dog show, our dogs are the only animals allowed at the event.
This year we are hoping that volunteers step up to help spread the word. Although the traffic and parking can be tricky, the rewards are worth it.

There are lots of trails to choose from, and, GFNJ volunteer, Nancy Barnett will provide us with maps of the area, so there are different trails available for any e-bodied greyhound.
We will be meeting in the Parking Lot at the Main Entrance at 10 AM every Sunday morning. Please log on to the Merrill Creek website for directions.
We will be walking through woods and fields and there are also several watering holes for the hounds to drink and swim.
Please bring water for you and your hound and dress you and your hound appropriately. Bug spray is also recommended for this time of year.

Every Sunday, weather permitting, there's an informal Greyhound Walk around Van Saun Park in Paramus. The longest distance we walk is just under 2 miles, but it's easy to bail out at anytime if you or your pooch is pooped. And speaking of pooped... here's the details:

From Philadelphia:
Use the Atlantic City Expressway to the Egg Harbor city exit #17. Left onto route 50 north, right onto route 30. Go two traffic lights and look for our billboard on your right, after seeing the billboard turn left on to Bremen Ave and Route 674. Then, go 2 ¼ miles to the Tuscany House on your left or Renault Winery on your right.
From North Jersey:
Garden State parkway south to exit 44. Take 2 immediate right turns onto Alt. 561 (Moss mill road). Follow signs five miles to Bremen Avenue. Turn right at the wine barrel onto Bremen Avenue. Follow to Tuscany House on your left or Renault Winery on your right.
From Atlantic City:
Route 30 West approximately 16 miles to Bremen Avenue. Look for large Champagne bottle on the right as a landmark. turn right on to Bremen ave and route 674 and follow 2 ¼ miles to Tuscany House on the left or Renault Winery on right.
From South Jersey:
Garden State parkway north to the food and service center exit mile marker 41. Proceed to the north end of the service center; at first stop sign make left and then an immediate right. At traffic light, make a left and follow Jimmie Leeds Road until you reach a fork and bear right. Follow (561) this road through several intersections until you reach Bremen Avenue, which is the right turn before Herr’s Potato Chip Warehouse. Follow to Tuscany House on the left or Renault Winery on right.

Cranberry Festival, Chatsworth, NJ

Greyhound Friends has again been invited to participate in this huge event. There are hundreds of vendors, excellent food and greys are welcome at the GFNJ booth which is located in the center of town at the main intersection near the White Horse Inn.
Since this is a two day event we will need as many folks as possible to help talk to people and just show off our greys. This is always a good event for future adoptions and fund raising.
Directions:
From Philly: Rt 73S to Rt 70E to Rt 72E-3 miles to Rt
563, follow signs. Total approximate time is about 1 hour.
From S. Jersey and Delaware: Rt 295N to Rt 70E to Rt
