The longest distance we walk is just under 2 miles, but it's easy to bail out at anytime if you or your pooch is pooped. GFNJ's 9th Annual Craft Show & Pet Expo

GFNJ's biggest fundraiser of the year will once again be held at the 4-H Building on Milltown Road, Bridgewater (across from North Branch Park). The dates are Saturday, December 3rd from 9am to 4pm and Sunday, December 4th from 10am to 4pm.

Highlights include: - our raffle, which has gotten bigger and better each year - wonderful vendors - Santa photos - holiday bake table - GFNJ adoption table - and much, much more!!!

Greyhound Friends, NJ is once again participating in the Holiday Gift Wrap at Barnes and Noble located at 765 Rt. 17 S. Paramus, NJ.

We have been offered the following times: Dec 9th - 4-11pm and Dec 19th - 4 -11pm. We are looking for volunteers to wrap books and usually break the volunteer shifts into 4 - 7:30pm and 7:30 — 11pm.

Unfortunately we are not allowed to bring our dogs, but we do manage to engage customers with Greyhound information and come away with significant donations. It’s a fun event and you can get some holiday shopping done as well.

Calling All Passaic County Greyhounds for the weekly Saturday Stroll starting at 9AM at Barbour Pond Park in Wayne. Organized by Lisa Hoffman Missygirl101@aol.com All are invited to join. Please call Lisa at 973-942-3612 to confirm. Each walker needs to bring plastic bags and is encouraged to water spray their dogs or have them wear a wet down coat or bandana. There is a water fountain. DIRECTIONS North of Wayne take the Newark Pompton Turnpike to Valley Road, Make a left onto Valley road and the first left onto Barbour Pond Road. Pass a nursery school and a baseball field on the left. Look for a small wood sign with the park name on it and bear left into the short road leading into the park. Meet at the end of the road in the parking lot with the kids playground. They make two rounds around the path and spend about an hour. From the south take Rte. 23 north. Take valley road exit and once you cross the intersection of Hamburg Turnpike and Valley road look for that 1st left hand turn into Barbour Pond Road. Follow as above from there.

Calling All Passaic County Greyhounds for the weekly Saturday Stroll starting at 9AM at Barbour Pond Park in Wayne. Organized by Lisa Hoffman Missygirl101@aol.com All are invited to join. Please call Lisa at 973-942-3612 to confirm. Each walker needs to bring plastic bags and is encouraged to water spray their dogs or have them wear a wet down coat or bandana. There is a water fountain. DIRECTIONS North of Wayne take the Newark Pompton Turnpike to Valley Road, Make a left onto Valley road and the first left onto Barbour Pond Road. Pass a nursery school and a baseball field on the left. Look for a small wood sign with the park name on it and bear left into the short road leading into the park. Meet at the end of the road in the parking lot with the kids playground. They make two rounds around the path and spend about an hour. From the south take Rte. 23 north. Take valley road exit and once you cross the intersection of Hamburg Turnpike and Valley road look for that 1st left hand turn into Barbour Pond Road. Follow as above from there.

From the Friends of the Loew's website:

This film weekend is presented in partnership with Greyhound Friends of New Jersey, Inc., an non-profit organization dedicated to rescuing and finding homes for greyhounds that have been "retired" from racing. Without the efforts of GFNJ, all of these beautiful animals would have been destroyed. Half of the net proceeds of this film series will go to GFNJ.

Representatives of GFNJ will be on hand to give information and answer questions. A few dogs will be at the Theatre for the screenings - which will give patrons a chance to meet these wonderful, needy animals, and just maybe consider giving one a home.

The following films will be shown:
Friday, 2/10/06 at 8pm - Best In Show
Saturday, 2/11 at 4pm - Old Yeller
Saturday, 2/11 at 8pm - The Misfits

Admission for each screening is $6 for adults/$4 for seniors and children 12 and under.
