About AMF Sunnyside Up

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Species: Dog
  • Color: White and Fawn

AMF Sunnyside Up is a beautiful little girl. She is sweet, friendly and calm. She is a gentle girl who is a real leaner. She was happy to receive attention and affection but she was not pushy. Sunnyside Up will make a great companion and will respond to a families love and affection. She had a broken leg but it is healed and she looks and acts great. She will be 4 years old in September and she is cat tolerant with supervision.

(The usual camera didn't work so the pictures do not do Sunnyside UP justice.)
Foster Update 9/22/2016

AMF Sunnyside Up was born September 23, 2012. She is full of grace and calm. In fact, we’re giving her the  Most Mellow Foster We’ve Ever Had Award––and that’s saying something, as most greyhounds are calm by nature. But Sunny takes it to an entire new level. This girl takes retirement seriously. She was a tiny bit shy when she first came to our home, but after a few days, she really warmed up, laying her head on our lap and welcoming pettings and head scratchings. Here’s what you need to know about Sunny:

  • Adjusted quickly to our busy home and our tight schedules.
  • No accidents in the house.
  • Eats well.
  • Sleeps all night on a dog bed in our bedroom.
  • Gets along with our two greyhounds and a foster greyhound. Our hounds are both males; one is a suave and sophisticated older gentleman. The other is an 8-year-old goof ball.  Our other foster is a happy-go-lucky girl.
  • Does well with our dog-friendly children, ages 11 and 15.
  • We have three cats; she can’t bring herself to even look at them.
  • Working on stairs; she’s still a little timid with them and needs help going up. We are confident she’ll master the stairs in no time.
  • Walks well on our wood, tile, and laminate flooring.
  • Crates well when we are at work/school. In fact, when we’re at home, we leave the crate doors open. Sometimes she’ll go in her crate for peace and quiet.
  • Walks nicely on a leash.
  • Has shown no food or space aggression; has not “counter surfed” (has not tried to steal from the counter).
  • Rides well in the car.
Sunny is a dream hound; she’s as lovely as she is charming. Our experienced guess is that she would do well with another dog or dogs, virtually any breed, and could most likely do well as an only dog. She would even make a great first dog or first greyhound. Sunny is very quiet and assuming; she takes great pleasure in simply hanging out with us as we watch TV, read a book, or work on days one of us works from home. She will fill her adopter’s home with an air of peace, calm, and love.
