Jason who is called "Magic" is just one nice boy. He was returned through no fault of his own as his owner needed surgery. He just turned 3 in August. Here is the write-up from his Foster Mom:
Magic is a very HAPPY boy. His tail does not stop wagging ever. He's a little thin and he eats a little slow, but we are taking care of that. His eyes appear fairly clear. He is terrific about his eye drops. You say "Magic, sit..eye drops" and he does, putting his head in the air. I took him to the meet and greet in Watchung. He was very well behaved and made a good impression on a few families. He LOVES children. He would make an excellent family dog. Gives kisses out like mad. All he wants is attention and affection. He is house broken, no accidents and has good house manners. Not shy or skittish, but likes a quiet spot during a storm. He does like to carry toys around and will sneak a shoe if you're not careful. He doesn't destroy it, just collects them on his bed. He has a big personality in a small body. If he gets the opportunity to work his "magic" he will certainly steal some family's hearts.

Sweet and gorgeous describes this little boy of only 60 lbs. Jason is very friendly and outgoing but not pushy. This 2 year old is cat tolerant with supervision. He is the littermate of SJ Tony. I can't say enough about how sweet both Jason and Tony are--two gems!!
Little Jason was just diagnosed with Pannus in his eyes. Pannus, chronic superficial keratitis,is an auto-immune disease that affects the eyes. Most common in German Shepherds, greyhounds also are susceptible to this condition. Pannus is totally treatable with Prednisolone 1% eye drops. However, the sooner you start treatment, the better, as it will spread to both eyes and can lead to blindness if left untreated.
Fortunately for little Jason, GFNJ had him immediately seen by an opthamologist and he is on eye drops.
If you are interested in adopting or fostering little Jason, please call Linda at 856-751-5134. This little boy needs our help and we are glad to have him! He and his brother were supposed to go to another group but they cancelled and the fate of the two brothers was in jeopardy--like I said we are happy to have them!!
UPDATE: Jason's eyes are looking much better already. He will see the Dr. again in a few weeks and hopefully the drops will be decreased and eventually he'll only get them once a day. He is sure is a great boy --so sweet and happy to be with people.
