About Tori Jem

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Species: Dog
  • Color: Brindle

Tori Jem is a cute, little, nice and friendly girl!!  She is calm and has a sweet disposition.  This soon to be 4 year old girl is a doll with the cutest little face, ears and general demeanor.  She is a nice, nice girl who is cat tolerant with supervision
Tori should do best in the company of another greyhound.
Foster Update 5/1/2009:
Tori will be one of those adorable greyhounds  that  just melts your heart!  Calm, Quiet, polite, loyal, nice, and  sweet!

This little girl has been in my townhome for a week now and although reserved at first, she is doing VERY well, warming up to be just all around perfect! (If I do say so myself!) Tori is great in the house, getting along with my other 10 year old  greyhound and 3 cats. (with supervision)   I call Tori a  "By your side Gal." She will just want to be with you without being demanding or pushy. Just knowing you are there is all this sweet, sweet brindle wants!  She loves her dog treats (takes them from my hand) Tori also loves car rides too!  I really can't say anything bad about this beauty:)

She lets me brush her teeth, wipe her feet after coming in from the rain and she stands right by my workout bike when I am working out on it!  It's So CUTE! !  Tori doesn't really approach new people outside. Large new crowds are a little scary for her. She is shy  and  reserved when  meeting strangers that come inside the house.  At the same time,  If they approach HER, she stands there quietly and allows for some petting. (in my book, thats really trying!)  Next week, she may just blossom even more!

After exposing Tori to many things and situations this week, I found Tori to be happiest around another greyhound or  "pack leader" dog-. ( Tori is a follower.).  She would make a WONDERFUL addition to your family if you already own greyhounds (1 or 5! haha..) She would also do best  in a home with a fenced yard or.. at least a  quiet neighborhood and home life, where she can explore, take many  long walks and sniff without many super loud kids or  "yappy" dogs.

Tori will turn 4 on May 24th. Can you Give Tori a forever home?

Days 8- 17-
She fits right in. I am in love with her! ;D
She loves when I come home, meal time her bones, treats.
She is a perfect leash walker now.
She really enjoys when "Shep" comes with us in walks to the park.
Still timid with strangers outside but allows for petting without pulling or shaking. At my parents house, she was attached to me and wanted to play with only me...... So pretty sure she will be your solid companion.
So far- She doesn't play fetch too much but loves to chase me when I run with her.
On Sunday, we walked to the lake, crowded with people, boats and dogs. She did great! I sat in the grass and Tori layed in the grass with me leaning her back into my side. We people watched for a good hour, stared at the lake and enjoyed the peaceful sound of the birds. It was truly a nice, nice moment. She was happy. I was happy. Just A wonderful companion. Like Glue! She sleeps awesome through the night and gets up when I do. Just a really easy ,easy , easy foster.
Tori had a blast when My friend came over for dinner and brought his high strung Australian shepard. She loved it! Just a more confident and excited dog Tori became. Tori was such a cutie, following him around and standing right by my side as we cooked dinner. Tori is great with the cats and very patient when they are eating there cat food. She stands nearby and waits for them to be all done before going in to see if they left any morsals in there dish....
The kids in the neighborhood still scare her a little bit. Can you blame her? She has never seen a bike, a basketball, a scooter and a lot kids chasing after each other. So Im hopeful she will "Get Over it" -just some time to adjust to her new life. Ok I'm rambling....
