Skiddy Vice --what a name for such a sweet girl. She is friendly and adorable and was very interactive with all of the folks who were handling her. Just a nice, nice girl. She is a gorgeous, rich dark brindle who just shines in the sun. This 3 year old is not particularly good with cats but sure is friendly.
Prison Foster Update: Skiddy was "paroled" for a few hours from the prison program to attend the Clinton Wal-Mart meet & greet with one of the GFNJ volunteers. Skiddy was already at the Wal-Mart with one of the GFNJ volunteers when I drove up. No other greyhounds had arrived yet to give this new girl courage or show her the ropes, and she was there with a person she had never met before, but she was already "meeting and greeting!" on her own. What a good girl! Our group of volunteers have met a lot of greyhounds, but Skiddy really made an impression on all of us, and we all fell in love with her after spending several hours with her. She was attentive and affectionate, friendly to the people who petted her, and good with the other dogs. If she was lying down as she was being petted she would show her belly and paw for more pets--how cute! Although Skiddy hasn't been in the prison very long, she did a very good job at "sit" for a biscuit, and walked nicely on her leash. Skiddy actually took a short nap at the M&G, and when she woke up she was ready to play. She bowed and wagged her tail trying to entice one of the dogs to play with her, right in front of the Wal-mart. It was very cute to watch! We all fell in love with Skiddy, so we're crossing our fngers that this beautiful girl finds an extra-special forever home.
