About King Honey

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Species: Dog
  • Color: White & Red
King Honey "Badger" just turned 2 in August. He is slightly reserved but friendly. He is cat tolerant with supervision and would do best with at least one other greyhound.

foster update:

King Honey (call name "Badger"), looks sad and a little frightened in his pictures. He must have been alone when his picture was taken, because this beautiful sweet boy just needs a greyhound buddy and some love to put a smile on his face. After an initial period of adjustment, he's showing what a happy boy he is when he's comfortable in his environment, with another greyhound to show him the ropes and give him confidence. He loves to run around the yard and play with the male and female greyhound in his foster home, and since he just turned two years old, his remaining puppy awkwardness is adorable to see and really puts a smile on your face to watch him. He loves his walks with the other greys, and his tail wags the whole time. When someone approaches on our walks who wants to pet the dogs, you can count on him to be SECOND in line — because as soon as he sees one dog go forward confidently, he is next in line to get his share! Then he will scrunch his eyes up and get in a silly position to show he absolutely adores the way it feels to be pet and loved on. Badger only had one small accident in the house on his first day, and has been perfect with his housebreaking ever since. He does not try to "mark" anything indoors. He has learned on his own to go up and down a full flight of stairs, that there is no doggy in the oven door, that a hair dryer can be ignored, that he cannot sleep in bed with his foster mom, and that the doggy door to the outside fenced yard works BOTH ways: If he lets himself OUT, he can also let himself back IN! His foster mom is very glad he figured that one out too! Badger greets his foster mom now with great enthusiasm, wakes her with doggy kisses and greyhound love bites, and sometimes a bit of a greyhound yodel. His foster mom is sure that whoever adopts this sweet baby will find it a wonderfully rewarding experience to watch him blossom and gain confidence, and receive all of Badger's love and loyalty.
