About KB's Zaleski "Zales"
- Status: Adopted!
- Species: Dog
- Color: Black
This sweet, little girl was recently relinquished through absolutely no fault of her own. Zales just turned 3 years old in April. Here is her current foster mom's assessment of Zales:
Zales was returned through no fault of her own; her family had to move and now "no dogs allowed". She is a beautiful petite black girl who gets along great with other greys. Fun and outgoing personality, she is great with kids but not good with small animals. A sweet girl who is a "talker" but not overly so. Walks good on a leash. An easy addition to your pack!.
Likes: a comfy bed, couch or lap
walks (no squirrels please!)
playing with stuffies
other greyhounds, especially Wilbur
lots of love and affection
KB's Zaleski whose call name is "Zales" is a gorgeous little girl. She's sweet and affectionate, dainty and feminine. Zales walks great on leash. Although she loved the attention we were giving her and she loves people, no cats, please. Zales just turned 2 years old in April--Happy Birthday, Zales!
Foster Update 4/17/2012
Zales took instantly to family living over here. She sleeps all night and
is gentle, sweet and people-loving all day. She's perfectly content
snoozing next to us and just loves her soft white blanket. Look how
beautiful she looks with it against her dark coat. She is calm all the time
and so lovely with children and other dogs we meet on our walks. I swear
that she has a sense of humor, too. She gets a kick out of learning to
climb the porch stairs to come inside the house. When we assist her from
behind, she looks back at us and gives us a big, goofy grin. And in the
morning, she likes to act silly and show off with her new "best friend" - a
stuffed elephant! During the day, she is happy to join in whatever's
happening or...just take a nap. She is so happy when we have visitors and
isn't skittish one bit. We thought she'd be afraid of the cleaning people
who vaccum but nope - she napped while they vacuumed and afterwards, went to
them to give lovins and lickins. The cleaning people are now talking about
adopting greyhounds!! At night, my daughter reads her a bedtime story as
she settles into her crate. By the end of the story (her favorite book:
"Once I Ate a Pie"), her long noze is in my daughter's lap and she's either
staring lovingly at her or is asleep. Zales is going to make her forever
family mighty happy!
Foster Update 4/25/2012
Wow. Zales is the calmest, sweetest dog we've ever known. Nothing fazes her and she's just happy to go along with the family "team" over here. She was clearly ready for some chaos the other day (this dog is sooooo calm) so we took her to an outdoor barbeque with children, adults, two large border collies and two big retrievers. She was thrilled to join that dog pack and the dogs had their own little party going. The kids ran together, the dogs ran together and we adults laughed and ate. Just the way life should be. Zales won the award for friendliest dog at the party because she'd break away from the pack and come and give the children and us butterfly kisses (little, inconspicious licks). I admit to being a little bit "proud" of having the most well behaved dog there. The retrievers kept trying to steal everyones knapckins and the border collies were a little feisty. Zales blew everyone away with her elegance and grace. Everyone wants a greyhound now. Apparently, Zales is being a good "ambassador" for the country of greys!
