About Eddy "Hawkeye Baddedy"

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Species: Dog
  • Color: Red

Eddy, affectionately known as “Eddy Spaghetti,” is a down-to-earth kind of guy who has patience and perseverance.  After his racing career, Eddy traveled from FL to MA with his brother Justin to take on his second job as a teaching animal.  Like Ben Affleck to Justin’s Matt Damon, Eddy is half of a real dynamic duo.  Eddy has so many good qualities – he is uniquely handsome with a thick, velvety “teddy bear” coat that is so soft, you just can’t help but pet him.  He is intelligent and hard-working, with an exuberant love for fun and frolic!  His enthusiasm for life sometimes bubbles over into hearty, hilarious antics and he can often be found scooting around in a springy play bow just inches from his human friends, excitedly asking them to play, please!  Above all, Eddy is loyal and devoted, sure to stand tall and true with the friends he meets along his life’s journey.

After the completion of his racing career, from January to May 2013, Eddy was enrolled in a teaching program at Becker College, where he helped students learn the fine art of responsible animal care.  He has done a great service for the community by helping the animal professionals of tomorrow learn to be compassionate and capable in their field of study.  He is 3 years old.   Eddy has also been introduced to clicker training, and has had some experience in a "real-life" apartment which has helped him become familiar with the skills he will need in his new life as a beloved pet.  Please consider meeting him if you are looking for a genuine and good-hearted friend!

Eddy is cat tolerant with supervision.
Foster Update 5/26/2013

Eddy is a charmer!  This beautiful, three-year old boy gets along swimmingly with my two Greyhounds and has been easily redirected away from our cats. He's also been very sweet with my two young kids. Eddy is a gentleman and very polite. He also loves to get and give hugs - Eddy is very affectionate. His deep, brown eyes are heart-melting. His coat is very thick and inviting - we love massaging him and running our fingers through it.

Eddy is a very happy boy. In fact, he broke his tail from a case of "happy tail" - meaning he, on more than one occasion, broke his tail from excessively wagging and hitting it on things. Eventually, a portion of his tail had to be removed. Now he has a stub of a tail (about 6 inches) that he still exuberantly wags - it is incredibly endearing. Eddy is also highly intelligent. He's picked up many things from watching our dogs and fit into our household, along with it's rules, immediately. He has had no accidents in the house and seems to get great joy from pleasing the humans he lives with.

Eddy will bring a strong air of happiness and love to the lucky adopter that welcomes him into his/her life and home. His positive, warm spirit and love of life are contagious; truly, Eddy is a beautiful soul. When in Eddy's presence, one can't help but smile. And for the rest of his life, that's exactly the gift that he'll gratefully give back to his adopter.
