About Rip N Rollin "Rollin"

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Species: Dog
  • Color: Black

Rip N Rollin whose call name is Rollin is a very pretty little peanut of a greyhound.  She's calm, friendly and warms up easily and is interactive.  Rollin is a gentle girl. She walks nicely on leash with a little spring in her step. Rollin is 2 years old and cat tolerant with supervision. We will be re-doing her pictures as she was a "victim" of the down-pouring rain, but you can get the idea--she's an adorable little black female that we have come to love.
Foster Update 4/3/2015

I have two pictures of Rollin just before Christmas ( a "before" and "after" of her with the "new" Christmas stockings. Here is the story behind the photos (see pictues below):

The day that I put up the Christmas stockings was a little intimidating to Rollin at first. She was afraid of them. I guess she thought they might attack her. Her big brother, Willie, came to the rescue and showed her there was nothing to fear. Once she saw how unconcerned he was she settled in beside him on the dog bed and went to sleep. Do you have a bed for her to share?

Foster Update 11/10/2014:

"Rollin has settled into our home. She has learned our routine and is a super sweet little girl! She is a pro at going up and down the steps in our home and has learned "House Manners 101". She pulls a bit on walks, but that is being addressed and will improve with time. She is fine with cats and all dogs. All she needs now is a home to call her own!"

 Foster Update 10/15/2014

Will (our greyhound), Rollin (Rip N Rollin) and I are finally back from "Greyhounds Reach the Beach" and everyone got along just fine.  We were out and about every day. She did get a little fearful a few times. Loud noises, sharp sudden sounds, and (on several occasions) when she was approached by strangers. She walked up to some people and pulled away from others and I could not get a feel for the ones that she approached vs the ones she didn't. I think she was less comfortable in a crowd of people and better on a one-on-one basis (as long as she wasn't already spooked by a noise. She did acclimate to the sights and sounds and all the attention.
Rollin is no longer being crated. She has been very good about not going potty in the house and ignores the cats. She showed some curiosity toward the little dogs at GRTB, but no aggression so she will be fine with cats and small dogs!!!   Our home has about 14 carpeted steps to the bedroom upstairs and she can navigate them now, but still needs encouragement. We will work more on that and I am fairly certain she will have that down pat in the next couple of days.
I feel she will be good in a home with another dog, a cat or two, or as an only dog. I also feel she will do fine with being walked several times a day or in a fenced yard. I do not think she will do  well with a crate.

Foster Update 11/8/2014
This sweet little girl has mastered the stairs in our Cape Cod-style home. She is very good around our cats and the neighbors' little dogs. She is a little cautious around strangers, but once she has sniffed them (or Will, our greyhound has been petted by them) she insists on getting petted too. She likes to stay beside me on walks, especially if I pet her while we walk! On the rare occasions when she walks in front of me, she tends to weave back and forth in front of me, so I have been encouraging her to remain beside me. She is a quick learner and does not need lots of toys to make her happy. Rollin is ready for her own home!! She will make some family or single person VERY happy!
