GREYHOUND KILLED BY HER OWNER - HOW TO REMEMBER RENNY

On Tuesday, December 8, 2009, a greyhound adopter named Gordon Reibman living in Hamilton Township, NJ, kicked and punched his greyhound to death during an alleged domestic violence incident.  While little Renny was not adopted through Greyhound Friends of NJ, we would like to assure that her death will be noticed and Mr. Reibman punished to the fullest extent of the law.

To do this, GFNJ is encouraging people to send an email and a letter to the officials in Hamilton Township.

The email should be sent to the Hamilton Township's Mayor's Office.  A letter can also be attached to the email if you wish.

The email should be sent through this link:

Some suggestions in filing out the form:
  • Under "Your Information"
    • enter your real name
    • for address, type "Greyhound"
    • for zip code type "00000"
    • enter your real email address
  • Under "Request Details"
    • select "AAA Dr" from the address drop down by typing the letter 'A' and clicking on "AAA Drive"
    • request type select "Comments & Suggestions"
    • copy and paste the entire letter to the Mayor in the Comments box.  You can add your name at the end.
  • If you want, you can attach the letter to the Mayor to the email
The paper letter should be mailed to the Hamilton Township Municipal Court.

That address is:

Hamilton Township Municipal Court
1270
Whitehorse Avenue

Hamilton, NJ 08619

In both the email and the paper letter we are requesting that the letters be put in Mr. Reibman's court file.

If you have any questions or problems, please contact Patty at patty.comerford@gmail.com

Thank you for your support in helping us make sure that Renny is not forgotten.

UPDATE 12/15/09:

A response from Mayor Bencivengo to an email sent to his office:

Thank you for taking the time to contact me over the act of senseless violence involving Mr. Reibman. As a dog-owner myself, having lost my black Labrador earlier this year, this disturbing behavior disgusts me. At this point, Mr. Reibman’s case must go through the legal system, which I cannot involve myself, as Mayor. However, what I am going to do is forward your sentiments to the Prosecutor’s Office so that he knows how strongly you feel about this case. Again, thank you for sharing your concerns with me.

Sincerely,
John Bencivengo
Mayor
